Overview

About This Page

What this disclosure covers and where to find complete licence texts

Mr.Clu applications and this website incorporate open-source libraries, fonts, kernel drivers, and external services. This page discloses all material third-party components, the licences that govern them, and the notices those licences require. It is updated with each significant release.

Application install directories may include a LICENSES.txt or THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.md file with verbatim licence texts for the exact versions shipped. Those files are the authoritative per-release reference; this page provides the canonical human-readable summary.

Ownership

Mr.Clu Application Source Code

How Mr.Clu’s own code is licensed

The application source code for CLU VIEW, VU1 Dial Controller, and Spec Card Generator is copyright © 2024–2026 Mr.Clu, all rights reserved. It is proprietary: it is not published, and it is not offered under the MIT licence or any other open-source or source-available licence. The applications themselves are free to download and use under their end-user licence agreements. That is a licence to use the software, not a licence to its source.

One exception applies, and it is not optional: the copyleft obligation described immediately below covers the PyQt6-based CLU VIEW 1.x and VU1 Dial Controller binaries. CLU VIEW NOVA (2.x, the Tauri/Rust rewrite) contains no GPL-licensed component and carries no such obligation.

CLU’D IN is in active development and is likewise not published.

Website code, design, brand assets, logos, screenshots, and written content are equally proprietary to Mr.Clu. All rights reserved unless otherwise stated.

Copyleft Notice

GPL & Copyleft Obligations

Required disclosure for the PyQt6-based CLU VIEW 1.x and VU1 Dial Controller binaries

Compiled distributions of CLU VIEW 1.x and VU1 Dial Controller incorporate PyQt6 by Riverbank Computing Ltd., which is dual-licensed under the GNU General Public License v3 (GPL-3.0-only) or a commercial licence. Because these binaries link PyQt6, the compiled application as a whole is distributed under GPL v3 terms. CLU VIEW NOVA (2.x) is a from-scratch Tauri/Rust rewrite with no PyQt6 and no GPL-licensed application library, so nothing in this section applies to it.

Your rights under GPL v3 (written offer for source code): For three (3) years from your receipt of any version of these binaries, Mr.Clu will provide anyone in possession of the object code, on request and at no charge, a complete machine-readable copy of the corresponding source code. Email by.mr.clu@gmail.com with the subject “Source request” and the version number shown in the application. This offer is required by the GPL and stands on its own; it is not an open-source grant of the Mr.Clu-authored code generally, and it does not extend to CLU VIEW NOVA.

LibreHardwareMonitorLib (MPL-2.0) and Qt 6 libraries (LGPL v3) also impose notice and source-availability requirements; these libraries are used unmodified and their source is available from their upstream repositories. PawnIO (GPL-2.0 with exception) source is at github.com/namazso/PawnIO; a copy will likewise be supplied on request.

CLU VIEW NOVA (2.x)

CLU VIEW NOVA, the next-generation Tauri/Rust rewrite released publicly and free for Windows and Linux, contains no PyQt/GPL components. It bundles LibreHardwareMonitorLib (MPL-2.0), the optional PawnIO driver installer, MIT/Apache-2.0 Rust crates, and OFL-1.1 fonts. Full third-party notices and licence texts ship inside the application’s install directory (THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt and the licenses folder).

CLU VIEW 2.0.4 notices: Windows and Linux. The Linux runtime includes LGPL-licensed components. Its corresponding runtime source archive accompanies this release; it contains those third-party sources and build material, not the proprietary CLU VIEW application source.

Transitive Rust Crates

CLU’D IN has 270+ transitive Rust crate dependencies recorded in Cargo.lock. The overwhelming majority use Apache-2.0 OR MIT dual licences. A small number use MIT-only, ISC, Apache-2.0-only, or MPL-2.0 (cssparser, selectors, option-ext, all used unmodified; source at their upstream repositories). Notable transitive crates include: hyper (MIT), reqwest (Apache-2.0 OR MIT), icu_normalizer (Apache-2.0 OR Unicode-3.0). No GPL or LGPL transitive dependencies are present.

SPEC CARD 2.0.0

The Windows app uses Tauri 2, a Rust hardware reader and a .NET sensor bridge. Source: proprietary, © 2026 MR.CLU, all rights reserved.

The installer includes the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 redistributable and a WebView2 bootstrapper. LibreHardwareMonitor is distributed under MPL-2.0. The optional, unmodified PawnIO driver uses GPL-2.0-or-later with a device-driver linking exception; it is not linked into SPEC CARD.

The complete third-party notices list each component, its licence and upstream source. The Rust dependency inventory records exact versions. These files and the full licence texts also ship with the installer.
